Of All The Fish In The Sea, I Caught 3!

A few weeks ago, I did something that my Dad would be very proud of......I went FISHING and caught 3 fish! There is a fabulous park in Mansfield called Katherine Rose Memorial Park and it has lots of open areas for picnics, trails to walk on, pavilions, grills, a state of the art playground, a pond to fish in, etc. GREAT PARK.

Here's the playground:

When I grew up, playgrounds were filled in with gravel/rocks, but I guess times have changed. This park has some sort of flat rubber surface and it was really bouncy - kind of weird, but I suppose it's safer than falling on rocks like we did in the 80's!

I was very impressed with the playground - it was very interactive and imaginative for the kids - even had the alphabet in sign language on one of the panels in the jungle gyms!

Oh, and I also learned something about nature too - below is a cool little nut that happens to be a PECAN! I never knew what a pecan looked like 'in the wild'....

And then it was off to the pond to go fishing.....here's Chris, acting up again:

Here's me fishing away!

TJ with his little fishing pole for kids:

Caught one!

Putting bait on the hook:

I caught a FISH!!

And since I was using Chris' fishing pole, and TJ didn't want to hold one, Chris spent the afternoon fishing with the kiddie pole!

I am concentrating on that bobber......

Waiting, patiently waiting..........

It was such a beautiful spring day - and such a great park!
