Meet Me Halfway

This was one of my FAVORITE things about our Amarillo trip - Midpoint Cafe! It's on Route 66 out in the middle of nowhere (Adrian, TX) and it's the exact midpoint on Route 66 - between Chicago and Los Angeles.

It's an old fashioned diner and has a ton of history attached to it. I absolutely loved it - I felt like I was back in the 50's/60's or something! And when we walked in, it smelled EXACTLY like my Grandma Larsen's house when she was cooking something. WOW - I haven't smelled that smell in a LONG LONG LONG time and it brought back so many memories of my childhood.

Here's two pictures of what it looked like back in the day:

This is the view from where I was sitting at our corner booth. Everything about the place just amazed and delighted me! I can't even explain it!

There was nothing special about Adrian, TX - it was just a blip on the map, but we drove about 50 miles out of our way to go to this cafe. It was 100% worth it!

Here's me with the "Midpoint" sign!

It was just a cute hole-in-the-wall place, but it was a FANTASTIC experience!

Here's Cindy on Route 66 in front of the cafe:
