Blue Angels In Flight

One thing that Barb and I did during her visit was to go to Alliance Airport in Fort Worth and watch the Blue Angels fly those crazy planes! It was just something we saw on the news at night on the first night she arrived and we decided to give it a whirl.

We were going to be arriving there towards the end of the day, (it was an all-day air show) right when the Blue Angels were scheduled to fly. The parking lot (fields) were PACKED, so we decided to stop right on I-35 and park our car to watch with other spectators!

Ummmm, sir? I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to rest your arms on barbed wire. Just sayin'......

And here are the Angels - SO FREAKING COOL!!!

I could NOT believe how close they were to each other! What if one of the pilots sneezed?!

And they flew SO close to the ground a few times and then shot back up in the air.

From some angles, they look like they are all hooked together or something - bizarre!

Truly an amazing feat!

When they flew low enough, you could really see their colors and the writing on the bottom of the planes...
