Cowtown Adventures

After a day in Dallas, the girls and I spent a day in Fort Worth - the Stockyards to be specific. It's kind of that 'little bit country, little bit rock n' roll' concept. We ate lunch at a place called Trailboss Burgers and all of us got their specialty - buffalo burgers! They are really good and very lean. Anyway, after that we did some shopping and saw the Grapevine vintage train roll into the stockyards, so when it was unloaded and just sitting there, Rachel, Jamie and I jumped on the back to get a picture!
Then we headed down toward the Cowtown Coliseum (where the rodeo is held) and Toni agreed to get on a longhorn for a picture:
This time, it wasn't Big Jake that you could sit on - it was Pecos Bill. Here's a close-up of his face! (Big Jake showed up later)

And how could we hang out at the Stockyards without taking a picture on the big huge spur?!

And I thought that I would finally have someone to go check out The Filthy McNasty's with me...so we headed down to that bar in the afternoon....just to find out that they aren't open during the day - locked door. :( Oh well - I will get in there eventually.....for now I had to settle for a group photo by the sign (Jamie, Me, Toni, Renee):
We decided that at night we would go to the rodeo (finally - my first one!), so we decided to check out Billy Bob's during the day so they could see what it's like inside.
Every time I've been there, it's been nighttime and very crowded, so I never really knew what the concert area looked like. When I saw Pat Green there, it was just packed and dark, so you couldn't even see how big the place was! Here are some pics of the concert/stage area:
And here is the magical dancefloor where all of the fabulous 2-steppers work their magic! And to top it off, it's got the disco ball saddle - I just love that thing!
