Fort Concho/The Cult

While we visited San Angelo, we toured Fort Concho which is right in town. It was an old military fort that has been restored to show how it originally was back in the day.
One other (unfortunate) claim-to-fame of Fort Concho is that it is where the children were taken when the authorities broke up that religious cult earlier this year. Since most of the buildings at this fort were set up as barracks and it wasn't that far from where the cult compound was, it just made sense to house the kids here until they placed them in other foster care (and eventually gave them back to their mothers).

And one thing that I just couldn't resist taking a picture of........Crotch Powder! It was on display at the hospital building and Mayce, Dave and I laughed pretty hard when we saw it. Yes, we're immature, but it was hilarious!

This place reminds me a bit of Fort Snelling-looks like you had a good time there! If they would have sold that crotch powder in their gift shop, that would be a hilarious white elephant gift!! :) Allison
