Last weekend, I went to the Rangers game (against the Kansas City Royals) with my friend Cindy and her two sons, Tucker & Brody. We had a blast!
Here's the bench - not many sitting on it, though. :)
I love the ballpark in Arlington - so bright and pretty. I grew up watching the Twins in a dome, so this is so much different in an open-air park.
It was a very full Friday night at the ballpark - love it!
The crowd on its feet for like the millionth home run of the night - it was insane!
Oh, and the national anthem was sung by a Baptist church in Arlington - so neat!
Here's the owners box - just to the left of the Rangers bench. The new owner - Nolan Ryan - is in a red shirt, right next to 2 security guys in red hats. George W. Bush wasn't there that night - he usually sits in that area as well (with a LOT more security).
The Rangers have a brand new scoreboard/video screen this year - it was FANTASTIC!
I have never understood the Dairy Queen ads here - the jingle is "That's what I like about Texas", but Dairy Queen is headquartered in Minnesota! Weird. Does every state have that ad for their state?
Ian Kinsler at bat - he is a popular Ranger and hit at least one of the home runs of the evening!
The pitcher for the Rangers - Holland. I just LOVE LOVE LOVE their bright red uniforms!!!
Base hit!
Whenever the Rangers got a home run, these Texas flag people would run all over the grassy area in the outfield. And they would also shoot off fireworks as well. I think they probably ran out of fireworks with all of the home runs that night!
We were on the 3rd level and the concession hallways are in open air at that level, so I was able to capture the sunset with the baseball lights! I love it!
Somebody sitting in the row in front of us was eating this hot dog.....with some unknown (and pretty much disgusting) toppings. NASTY!
And I think this guy (down the row from us) was stoned or something - he kept 'falling asleep' like this - for long periods of time! STRANGE!
