Cry or no Cry?

This post is for the ladies (mostly) out there: How good is a good cry??? I think it is the thing that makes us women live longer than the guys - just getting all that frustration, anger, sadness out and having a fabulously good cry. Then you feel better and can think more clearly afterwards and move on. Am I right????

Quote of the Day

I have 2 daily rip-off calendars on my desk and today's quotes on those calendars are both excellent, so I'm going to share:

"The road to success is dotted with many tempting parking spaces." - Very interesting quote, as I know for myself it's easy to settle into comfort zones and ruts instead of plowing forward to the next adventure or challenge. However, in 2008......BRING IT ON!!!!!!

"Spend not a moment on regret. Our journey is made richer by all that has come before." - Wow, that's a powerful one (and one that I'm going to add to my bathroom mirror). Every experience we have is added to the mosaic of who we are. All things in life, good or bad, change who you are and it's each individual's job to ensure that we are changing for the better (note to self: read this quote daily).

Dallas/Fort Worth adventures

Here are a few other pictures of things I saw in Dallas - a real life cattle drive in the Stockyards of Fort Worth, running around on the field of Texas Stadium a week before the Cowboys playoff game happened there, and the grassy knoll where John F. Kennedy was shot in his motorcade (along with a picture of the exact spot that he was shot). I'm the ETERNAL TOURIST and I LOVE IT!!

My new identity

Well, on my recent reconnaissence mission to Dallas/Fort Worth, I found a penguin in a window (no, I'm not on acid) that had my new self-proclaimed identity - I'm going to be a Rhinestone Cowgirl in Texas!!

'24' UPDATE

UPDATE on '24' - Jack Bauer-err, Kiefer Sutherland-was released from jail over the weekend. Now if we could just end this writers' strike, we would be back in '24' business!!! Who's with me????

3 people for lunch

OK, here's the philosophical question for the day:

What 3 people would you choose to have lunch with if given the opportunity?
CRITERIA - They have to be alive & in the United States.

PS - Mine are:

1. Suze Orman
2. Glenn Beck
3. Someone who had the courage to quit a very high paying & prestigious job to sell their belongings and fly to Europe in pursuit of REAL happiness - AND FOUND IT & THEY DON'T REGRET THE DECISION.

Jon & Kate Plus 8

Has anyone seen the show Jon & Kate Plus 8? It's my new favorite show and it's a reality show about a couple who had a set of twins and wanted one more baby - but got sextuplets! It's a fabulous show and I love it. Anyone else a fan?

I'm a fan of a few reality shows, but.............

OK, so I could put up with reruns of CSI and the introduction of a few new STUPID reality shows, but this writers strike is now officially getting out of hand. Normally in January, I am very very sad at the ending of the NFL season, but my big consolation is that a new season of '24' is starting up and it diverts my attention.

However........now that Kiefer Sutherland is in jail for DUI and the writers strike has indefinitely postponed the season, I am at a loss! What do I do with myself???

Any other mourners over the lack of '24'???

My furry friend

Well, I need to introduce my little Maggie. She's the best wiener in the whole wide world!

My take on the presidential elections......

So, in the wake of all the presidential election garbage that is all over the media, I would like to officially nominate a Pres/VP team that should run our great country:

President - GLENN BECK
Vice President - SUZE ORMAN

Whattya think??

Well, this is my inaugural blog session - I'm a blogging virgin. There's a first time for everything, right??? Hopefully this will be fun and I aspire to be as entertaining as Iris Took of Great Smials, of course.
